took a crack at some pictures, had to do much editing to get to 100kb. I will roll em outside and try again later.
pa had this boat since 1952. he had me out in it when I was 4 years old. no life jackets back then! we had sanded it down (4 or 5 coats of paint) to the cedar strips and fiber glassed when I was a 12. pulled it out of the rafters and did major rehab last year, he had worn the bow down to the wood for about 2 feet. the ore locks are red oak and had split. scraped em down, tight bond 3 in the cracks, clamps, then fiber glass. steel parts got the dremmel and repaint. all bolts (square nuts) were replaced with stainless. bent up custom skiff irons out of 1/2 inch flat bar and mounted to the front and back with a hump for rings and a rope.
