there was big water
darkness
rollers that would crush you
and a boat that knew how to plow through it all

there were dogs
black and brown
musty and true

tired but strong
tails slung and ready to knock over anything

sand and bbs in eveywhere

tangled lines and wind swells
anchors fore and aft

burlap and mastic
cork and files

the meetup at the milltown coffee stop at 0400 hrs
it was a good adventure

in the beginning i had to shout at the dogs
had to get up in their faces and make it happen

they didn't know what they were doing
niether did i

after a while
they grew deaf

but i didn't have to shout at them anymore

in the end
they knew where the lines were

they knew where the boat was stashed
and they knew me

we managed to figure it out somehow
makes me smile a little now

Ah yes, it brought back my own recollections - Not too many words, just the right amount.
Thanks Todd.
