Boat blind help

Looking for a little help and some pictures would be great. I am in the process of building a low profile blind for my big water boat, mainly to be used on Lake Erie, and I am looking for ideas/guidance. I am not interested in the pup-up blinds a lot of boats have for puddle ducks, just something to lure the divers closer. We have had good success hunting shorelines and the such out of this boat, but most days the vast majority of the birds stay several hundred yards offshore and I don't always want to lug the layout boat around. I have a 22 foot deep V, center console and I would like to make blind to shoot 3 - 4 gunners. I have some ideas, but I don't want to recreate the wheel. Some pics of what you may have done or even a factory type would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Brad

Hello....?? Is this thing on?

Not trying to be a pain in the back side, but surely somebody has some pics or ideas for what I am trying to build.

Carl,

Your "almost no blind" is exactly what I am thinking, but I believe I need something 12 to 15 inches higher than the gunwales. I just don't know if I want to build a frame and have material sewn to fit the frame or if I want solid material panels that "fall" out of the way when it's time to shoot. I know it comes down to my personal preference, but I am trying to do it the most efficient and cost effective way while keeping the weight of what I build in mind as well.

I love your setup, the way it disappears with the reeds in the mud, but some of the places I will be hunting is rock bottom and anywhere from 4 to 5 foot deep all the way to over 20 foot deep.

Thanks for input.

Yep, totally different bottom here! We can be 2 miles from shore and only be in 8" of water in some spots.
BTW, The reeds are bamboo and phragmites we cut & carry with us/stick in the bottom to break up the outline of the boat blind & hold the boat in place.

I'd go with a frame like I use, but shorter, with camo netting. Cheap, easy to get out of the way when picking up decoys, etc..

I used to have a good sized big water boat, ok agree with Carl. go with almost no blind, maybe some cloth wrapping over the fore and aft,.. The issue is the at the wind will kick up and blow you all over with a blind up.
