Duckhunter Plans?

So this being my first post I will say hello to all with an introduction. I am a 30 year old married SC resident. I love the outdoors and woodworking. Duck hunting is my curse. I got the idea a few years ago to build my own boat after seeing Brad at Toller Boat Works post a project on another hunting site. Life has been crazy with a child and starting my own business the past few years. Now I have hit a groove that allows me to actually have a little free time. So my little idea to build a boat is going to happen. With all that has been going on in my life I shrunk my fleet down to 1 boat. A 17' edge with a 60 Yamaha. I love this boat and it does 80 percent of what I want a boat to do. Now I want a boat to plug the other 20, well maybe 10 percent. So im looking for a skinny, stumpy water boat with a small surface drive motor. I think the Duckhunter is what will fit my needs.

Now I am in search of Gator Boats plans for the Duckhunter. I have emailed Gator Boats with no luck. It is very possible that I am missing there contact information on the world wide web. Any help would be much appreciated.

As far as I know they are still in business, unfortunately I don't have any other contact info for them other than what is listed. I am admin and moderator for their forums and have yet to see anyone get stiffed for a set of plans. I will add that while the DH design is adequate for a mud motor, it's not ideal due to the relatively narrow transom and amount of rocker in the rear. If you decide to that route, I would definitely install some wedges. 3/4" high tapering down to nothing over a 3.5 or 4" run will help with planing a lot. I have some other advice I can offer as well, just drop me a message and I'll be glad to help.

Brad

Thanks Brad. I am all ears on changing the design to accommodate a short tail. It won't see much mud. Mostly stumps and logs in Santee. When I get my plans in I'll drop you a message or 2.
