Jersey Garvey Rebuild

Good morning ~!

Great vessel! It looks like the bilge - at least beneath the cockpit sole - is foamed in. Were the holes filled then 'glassed over?

Are those air/flotation chambers in the stern? Something similar up forward?

Congratulations,

SJS

Thanks Steve

Yes the deck was epoxied down and hole saw used to created pour points for 2 part foam around stringers. Once the area was full the cutouts were reset with epoxy and the entire deck glassed over. The interior was glassed and then gel coated for protection.

Stern areas hold fuel tanks. Bow area dry storage. Both have decks with foam under.

That's a great looking Garvey. You just can't beat it for coastal bay fishing, clamming, hunting, whatever you want. Enjoy!

thanks Greg, she's a great little boat. Something I've always wanted but for countess reasons could never get to.

Taken from a glass over cedar hull that was about 100 years old but beyond my abilities to resurrect. Spent countless hours on Duckboats.net reading others builds and applying what was working to this hull.

Built with my sons, it took a solid 6 months to complete after a winter break.

She'll be doing all of those things you mention!
