I've taken to the habit of posting a photo collage every 12 months or so. I did some crabbing with one of my 4 year olds last weekend and wanted to post the "tailgate" shot for Jode

as with fishing, we are very blessed with the abundance of resources down here
I'm not sure if most of ya'll have seen how we cook them in NOLA. It's a little different than your standard east coast steaming

We used the little skiff that I posted last go round, and a dozen drop nets

We also actually got a snapper season this year as opposed to the last few

and as always, had a few of these to go around

Daytime sword. The amazing thing about these creatures is that it ate on the bottom in 1400', and was winched to the top with an electric reel in under 10 minutes. Even with the change in pressure that would basically explode anything else I'm familiar with, it comes to the top ready to battle

That looks darn good!!!! I was lucky enough to have a Cajun crab boil last year courtesy of a friend who drove up for our local crab tournament. It was awesome, he said our crabs would have to do, but the La. Crab would be better!! Lol. Nothing wrong with those shots at all. Well done!

If I remember right he waited until the crabs " floated" to take them out of the book. Does that sound right?

craig,

all the offshore are on freemans, snapper and sword on a 33

tuna on a 42, w quad 350's. I figure Tod needs a ride just so he can be faster than the roy boat guys

will roll 60...................................................... knots

Very nice! My buddy just got a 34Z SeaVee, triple 350 verados. It's nice coming home on a calm day offshore cruising at 50. Slightly faster than my roy boat [;)]

jode,

that's right, we boil for about 5 min then soak them for 30

So you let them soak right in you boil mixture? I want to try it sometimes. I remember his crabs were loaded with flavorful juices. They were really good
