Thanks so much for the thoughtful post! That's a fine piece of artwork - and bespeaks an era I am always happy to visit.

It's 41 degrees right now. The recent record heat hereabouts had put a damper on the all-important pre-season prep. The week leading up to our opener looks like good "workin' weather".

If you click on the photo, you will see it's the cover from Oct. 1952. I was two years old...

The days when illustration was still king, before photo's and photo realism art took over. Man do I miss that type of art.


We have had at least a 40 degree swing from record temps here. Very cool now with cold rain. Fall is here.

Yesterday I got out of the shop and into the woods, felt good to be home.

All prep has been done, but Oct.28 is much to far away for the season, as I love teal and Wood Ducks.
