Solid or spring loaded transom saver

I am in the process of purchasing a 16 1/2 foot aluminum boat for fishing and hunting. It is a g3 with a 60 hp motor. As I expect to trailer this often and over long distances and rough roads, I plan to add a transom saver. What I am not sure of, is should a I get a solid one or a spring loaded one?

David,
I have a 16' Alumacraft, I run a solid and transom straps. I would think spring loaded would let the motor bounce and that's what i'm trying to prevent.

I agree with George. Your boat, the motor, and the trailer, will all flex and bounce going down the road.............and it should do this as one solid unit. Even loose items inside your boat will ride better if secured within the boat. ie; my fishing rods get strapped down inside my fishing boat. Decoys are packed tightly and not left to bounce helter-skelter. Trolling motor is secured for the road trip.
