Ok guys finally got a little time to get in the shop and build a blind for the Black Brant III, anyone have any ideas for me someone must have something rigged something to conceal these boats..

Thanks in advance.

Good morning~

Here is how I converted my 13-foot Sneakbox so I could gun 2 guys - sitting up. It was lashed on with a cleat in each corner - took about a minute to install or remove.

Here it is with the front (port side) flap up - to hide when we saw birds approaching:

All the best,

I built a roll up/roll down camo cordura nylon blind to use on my aa blackjack. Stows along gunnels and goes up and down quickly. I used sections of 3/4" galvinised conduit as my top wall support with conduit corner fittings on each end of section. They easily set down on top of legs made of same conduit on all 4 corners. Inserted these into sleeved flush mounted rod holders installed in cockpit combing on this boat. I,ll be putting back on boat over weekend and I,ll post some pics to give you another option.

I've done it twice on my BB3. The latest and best was like Roy describes. Goes up and down very easily, offers a ton of room inside, and is almost bomb proof.

My first was a dodger up at the front end of the cockpit and then sides that attached and went all the way back to the transom. Worked but it was a hassle to let the dog in and out and the dodger got in the way when gunning two people - which I did most times. I'll try and find some pics of both ideas.

This was my first blind. Dodger was nice underway but too confining with two guys and a dog. Also, I used a lot of Aluminum tubing and it was just too flimsy.

Apparently I don't have any recent pics showing the new design. As Roy indicated in his description, I have done basically the same thing. A 3/4" pipe in each corner of the cockpit sticking straight up to the height of the blind. Across the top is a length of 1/2" steel pipe with an elbow on each end that fit down inside the 3/4". The cordura fabric with grass tied on is fastened to the cockpit edge or the grass rails. It's rolled up around the 1/2" pipe and just unrolled and set into the 3/4 when you are ready to hunt. Since the sides are totally vertical instead of angling towards the center as in my first blind, there is much more room to move around. The only negative is the four pipes sitting up all the time but I really like the rigidity so I live with it.

Here's what I did for my BB II

. Wrapped he whole thing in four panels of plastic fencing and then grassed the heck out of it. Also removed the screws on the bimini hardware reamed out holes for 1/4" d clips so I can take it apart without tools. Have not used it in anger yet, but I do like it came outView attachment IMG_0017.JPGView attachment IMG_0019.JPG

Now the problem is what to choose to do - thanks guys there is a lot of great ideas here! - I will post when I finally decide and make something happen.

Found out that the primos double bull folding blind stool works great in situation your blind will create. Stows easily under front deck when not in use. Most importantly with narrow confines of footing area in cockpit the three leg design gives you room to stand and shoot without legs being in way. I add a boat cushion to seat area of mine and very comfortable and good back support. Works a lot better than milk crate or dove stool .
