We just had our 3 day early resident only pheasant season. Only public land and not many crops out so it can be tough.
Too wet Saturday for good hunting (I got one wet ugly young rooster). Nice on Sunday but I had other things to do. Wouldn't you know it, the guys I would have hunted with saw birds at every stop. Today I was able to get out for the last hour. Only saw one. Deuce had a nice solid point earlier but it was right next to standing corn so the bird gave us the slip. The one will do.
While the numbers aren't great I don't think it is as gloomy as the predictions were making it sound.
