Not sure yet if it helped but I don't think I'll go back for a second treatment.

My local sherrif's dept. was offering an eight week class covering most aspects of the duties involved in being a deputy for the county. I signed up because my son-in-law is employed as a deputy and I wanted a better understanding of what it is he does everyday. It has been a very enlightening and entertaining 8 weeks.

[size 4]The voice at the end saying: " It's so weird...." pretty well sums up the whole experience. Damn, Dave!! You need some new hobbies.
Definitely re-defines the meaning of "It feels so good when it stops." [w00t]

I think shock treatment is mainly used for mental issues....seems appropriate. [;)]

My brother in law is the sheriff here. They are running the same type of classes. My sister/his wife is going through it to get a better idea of what goes on at work. They asked me if i wanted to do it but the timing wasn't great. It would be interesting to see some of what they deal with.

They only got to see the tazer shot at a target...i know I wouldn't volunteer to be tazed, you have my respect for being so adventurous/foolish. [smile]

Another passed up opportunityy to raise money for DBHF or your local police. I would have started the bidding at $20 to be the guy pulling the trigger.

Jeeez Louise Dave. What's next? Plasma donor for fun, human crash test dummy. Maybe you should join the circus. I hear they are short on human cannonballs.

Seriously, good for you for spending your time learning about other people's jobs and duties.

So it appears this retirement thing is hitting you hard. If you really need something to do, I can offer whistlers in the salt water ice in a few weeks. It might not be as painful as being tased, but the pain will last longer.

Careful, Dave, Ken Kesey underwent EST at the mental health facility he worked at during college to better describe the experience for the book he was writing...he morphed from a collegiate level wrestler to one of the founders of the counter culture movement of the '60s. Well, maybe it was the drugs, too! Remember that "Little Feat" line: "Don't go fallin' over the edge, don't let your wandering mind drive you outa your head!" Best retirement advice guidance I can offer...

The most volatile and dangerous situations most law enforcement personnel face occurs when responding to a domestic disturbance call. True when my Dad was still a patrol officer and still true today...

On a brighter note, time to go chase deer in the rain...!

Damn Dave!

My son is a deputy and he knows better than to ask me to volunteer for something like that. (well, maybe if he goes first...).

I prefer to just talk to him on the phone.

"two out of three..." HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I do, however, commend you for being involved. That is way cool.

Jon
