Motoring our this morning something didn’t seem quite right to me. Then when I slowed down and killed the motor There was a funny smell coming from behind me. Wonder what the heck caused this? Last day is tomorrow and I don’t think it will get fixed by then

None of the other electrical stuff in the boat seems to be working righ either. Looks like an off season investigation to me. Short somewhere maybe?

Had that happen once back around 1999 or 2000, left the anchor light on when we anchored my boat up next to a channel and took my buddies boat up onto the flat to hunt.
Came back around 10am and the light was melted.
Never figured out what happened, never happened again.
Can deep cycle batteries have power surges????

THis is just a little motorcycle battery powering LED’s. My interior lights are acting goofy as well. I’m guessing a grounding short somewhere hidden.

Hasn’t affected the hunting though. Couple ducks in the boat. Breaking ice all the way out again this morning.
