Jesse, I saw him while building the boat here in RI. Got to tell you the only thing he wish was done different is that "IT WAS NOT SELF BAILING". But by the time the planes were done and sent to the cutter of the aluminum and the floor frames were installed he realized there was NO INSIDE FREE-BOARD. I am almost sure his father was in California and he moved there after he was done with school. With that said the thing was a piece of art, just perfectly built.

Jesse, I forgot to tell you he also had the hull made I think 5" taller as well as longer than the planes.

Thanks for the insight . I was planning on adding 6 inches of side height so the inside would be 16 inches.... and that will make the outside height 20 sides on the midship bulkhead...the 2nd bulkhead from the stern would be around 18 inches inside. I am also going to shrink the length to17 ft 8 inches . I built a 16 scaup from aluminum and I put a flat floor and added side height it ended up being within half of a inch in side height on the inside..I have a 90 hp Honda to push it with a 25 inch shaft so it should be perfect to sit or stand to run it with a tiller handle.

Thanks for the info keep it coming
