Pool 9 Open Water

I was born a duck hunter on that stretch of river back in the 60's. I cherish the times I tagged along with my grandfather to hunt the marsh at Brownsville.

What birds were you able to ID? Good thing you didn't cross the tracks illegally and get a ticket??!! Talk about crazy rules.

Swans, Canada's, Mallards, and Cans.

Cross the tracks illegally? If they ticketed everyone that crossed the tracks without the railroad's permission... WIDNR would be wealthy!

I hunted that area with the Mighty Layout Boys a number of years back. What a great memory and I'm sure we were nearby to the spots in your pictures. Neat pictures.

We were able to get enough of a temperature elevation to get some time in the woods during the December grouse season. Kane had a good laugh as I went one for three...

Yep, that was fun. Do you remember the year? Must have been right around 2000 - eh? I have a picture of all of us at the cabin, just can't lay my hands on it right now.

Pete, I think it was 2000. You and your son were there. He must have his own family now. What an awesome hunt that was with a great group of guys. Remember the cabin owner? She had the mouth of a sailor.

No, don't recall the cabin owner though that was the first time I met most everybody else. I do remember the food though - first time I had dove with jalapeno and wrapped with bacon that Steve had brought. Fun times for sure. Yes, Mark has his own family, a 11 year old daughter now. Amazing how fast time flies. I'll keep looking for that pic.
