What happened to Winter???

Forecast between now & Christmas Day is warm, muggy and rainy.
And here on the Gulf coast that means fog, fog and more fog.
Barring some major change in the forecast, I don't see getting back out again until the 26th.
Insert expletives here:

awwwwwwwwww that sounds like here too.....I'm going down to Cocoa for Christmas....looks like I can be working on my tan this coming weekend while I'm in the blind....

I'll be out though...hoping for a great teal/ringneck hunt

I actually got a ringneck this season, first one in over 5 years!

We seem to have plenty of scaup this year too, which is a complete change from last year when I didnt shoot a single one.

Have fun, remember to put your sunscreen and bug spray in the blind bag!

Carl, it's finally come here. No big snow yet, but we've been getting 1-4 inches every few days and had temps staying well below freezing all day. It almost feels an old fashioned December.

Completely agree! Was hoping to do some ice fishing over winter break. Had 4-6 inches of ice on the lakes around me going into the weekend. Its been highs in the 40's and lows barely getting below freezing since Saturday. Its supposed to stay that way through the end of the week. I don't think there will be any ice fishing in my future.

I think we got your winter, snow for the next 2 days and then a big temperature drop-high on Sunday is 6 degrees with the low being -10, and several days of the same after that. We've had some open water in the marsh here but this will lock it up good for at least a few weeks. Good news about that is that a certain late season farm pond that's fed by a warm spring will start to really load up with birds!

It's rough here in Central IN; it was in the 20's last week and things were getting good, now it's in the 50's and everything is open again...

Yep, look at the forecast for Christmas Day & early next week, back to 10-15 degrees below normal.
I hear there is snow in the forecast for north AL.

We will see. So far it's been a good year up here, but starting to have more hunters than ducks again due to those white birds everyone wants to chase. I'm fixing to become a coot shooter [;)]

Carl

The forecast was looking brutal after Christmas but they have completely changed that. Regardless, those artic winds won't stayed bottled up and before the season ends we will get a few blasts and the new hungry ducks they bring.

Yuo, it's here, too. 5 inches of snow and a half inch of sleet/ice yesterday. A lull today, and another 6-10 inches of snow predicted for tomorrow. My duck season may be over. The boat shed is plowed in, and my late season canoe spots are rapidly icing in.

47 below with wind chill in Rugby,ND. But 70s in south Florida. Ducks are spotty but crappie fishing is excellent. Going deep dropping off of Jupiter tomorrow maybe some grouper, would be nice.

Well!!
Got 8" overnight and snowing so hard we won't get out of the house today!!
Not real cold @25 but blowing hard. there are a few birds around.
Merry Christmas, John
