Bankes intruder

Anyone have one on Long Island or anywhere really? How does it handle when the weather turns for the worst. Also anybody put flapper doors on it?
Thanks

Call Mike Bankes he will let you know who owns what you are looking for so you can speak to them or maybe try it out. Bankes quality I will tell you as a Bankes owner is second to none

Once, I would have agreed with you, now, that quality build advantage is diminished appreciably. Not as a response to declines in Bankes' production quality, but largely an improvement in the quality of construction of: Duck Boss, TDB, and Duckwater boats.

Thanks for the help. RLLigman you would prefer the duck boss, tdb, duck water over the bankes or are you just saying those are other good options. I like the duck boss 13. I’m looking for something that I can hunt 2 people out of but needs to have a low profile with a shallow draft to get into the back creeks.

Russell,
You might want to think about a longer boat, in my opinion if you are hunting 2 people + decoys. A lot also has to do with the water your are running in to get to your "spot" too. It's amazing how fast you fill a boat with your gear. And think safety first.

I must add, I don't have the flexibility of you young guys anymore, fitting into tight quarters is not to my back's liking!

If you are going to hunt routinely with two people and expect to face rough sea conditions in open water on a semi-routine basis, I would not recommend either the Bankes Intruder (48" beam) or the Db-13' (roughly 60"beam at transom). I would give the nod to the DB-15' or a TDB-14' Classic, both with good skinny water capabilities and a whale-back hull configuration to lend you some additional safety and protection in rough water. The DB-15'draws 6" ,while the TDB-14' Classic draws 3" at fully loaded capacities. I owned a TDB-14' Classic for years. Several times I had to slide it off the mud, fully loaded...really nice skinny water hull due to the positive rocker keel configuration.

Thanks guys I spoke to mike bankes and he said he’s planning on makin a 2 person version of the intruder

Anyone use an older 15 on one I know it’s rated for a 9.9 but they’re the same motor with a couple differences
