THEY DO!!
During this morning's hunt Thomas is blowing, whistling, and using every trick trying to get a pair of pintails (uncommon around here) in the spread and finally they commit. On their descent the sun hits one of the two ducks and I see a green head and say "Those are mallards not pintails." Then he and Patrick fire back, "It's a Pillard." and Thomas dumps it on the water's edge with a couple of shots. Patrick goes out to pick it up and his jaw drops. I've hunted 35 seasons and have never seen a mallard pintail cross until Patrick brought it to the blind. It suffered no real damage and is headed to Blake Wilson to get mounted under glass along with a drake mallard and drake pintail. Should make for a neat display. I told Thomas he was going to have a tough time ever topping this season.
