Has anyone ever built a TDB, Bankes similar type boat?

Looking for my next boat building project. Thinking I want something with high sides and big for open water hunting out on Lake Mighian. Love the looks of this type of boat, but cann't seem to find any plans. Anyone have any ideas?

seems like it be easy to build in wood or aluminum but doubt they are wanting to sell any plans . you can try to gather as many pictures as you can then sit down a draw out a set of plans, if your lucky enough to have access to a cad you can lay out on there then use the plotter for full size patterns if not it will just take a little extra time to loft everything by hand.
The One point I would make sure more so if you build wood/glass is to be careful not to make it top heavy

Andrew,

If you haven't already, take a look at a Tolman Skiff. Do a Google search and you will find several sites with pictures. The basic hull appears to be very adaptable to just about any type of top side changes. It has a very high bow @ 4 ft. off the water and a small dead rise so it appears to handle waves very well. If you are interested, get Renn Tolman's book with the plans for all three of the designs.

The Tolman will be my next boat - when I ever get it started.

I thought someone on this page built something like that using 2 similar v hull boats, one welded on top of the other with a blind opening cut in the top boat. Not sure who it was, not sure if he is still around.
