Started putting my checklist together. To see what work I have to do on my hunting equipment. First order of business this year is to work on my camp boat. Its a old clam boat that was modified to sleep two and to hunt out of.
Many years ago a friend of mine use to sleep out in the river all duck season in it. After I bought it from him it sunk a few times. The anchors got twisted when a few ships passed by. After pulling it off the bottom of the bay. I had it all redone inside and out. Now you can hunt off the back of the boat as well as sit inside. I had a stove mounted in it along with a counter top. There is nothing better then waking up it the morning to the sounds of ducks quacking. I have woken up and went outside to do my business and a crane sat right next to me. This years she needs some outside work and a little tender loving care. Shot more deer and turkeys out of to be truthful. But I enjoy the heck out of it. I guess its true. Another persons junk is another man's riches. Lots to do and lots to redo. But it feels great to even start thinking of duck hunting.
