What's on your Work Bench ? JULY 2018

Chuck

I love the organization and character added by shop made organizers. Projects like yours are so satisfying when you are doing them and when you are done they keep on satisfying.

I've been lacking on my posts here a bit..life has a way of getting overly busy at times and I've got a lot up my sleeves for the coming months, but through it all I'm still carving nightly. As always, love seeing everyones work, Chuck, love the organization but clean workspaces scare me as much as the people who keep them!

Here are some of my recent doings....

Braden, it's 1/2". I started working around the main garage with sheathing grade, but that stuff was so crappy the edges weren't even straight. I found BC Sanded for $2 more per sheet when I did the workroom. It's thick enough to give enough hold to screws and dowels for all but he heaviest items.

Eric, thanks, coming from the quinticential anal retentive shop designer it is a compliment.

Bill, don't fret too much, I can make a mess with the best of 'em. Though I have grown to appreciate some organization as my workbench at the old house generally just got filled with crap till I was working sitting on the floor.

If you all didn't gather, the general organization is heavily used tools in reach and the upper areas out of reach are filled with the tool archives...

Bill~

I always appreciate the bold simplicity of your style. The paint on that Can's stern is genius!

All the best,

Put a new finish on one of my Muskie lures. Hope the fish approve.

Looks like spatter-painting to me, Dave ! [sly] Great color.

MLBob, pretty close, lets call it shakeandsprinkle-painting. I was going for the chrome/blue color combo and I'm pleased with how it turned out. The eyes came from my decoy supplies so I guess the lure is some weird hybrid of sorts.

Some great stuff this month. I'm finally getting back into some carving after some house work. Some projects on hold like the turkey decoy I started because I have a craftsman fair coming in October and have to get stock up for that. So I am working on a canvas canvasback to sell there.
