I have been working on a variety of decoys that do not/will not have a keel. On the Coot I cast, and some Buffies I am working on, I have added some flat lead weights, but directly to the bottom of the decoy. As they are both foam bodies, there is not a easy way to temporarily screw a handle on for handling during restle coating and painting. So far a vice grip on the eyescrew sort of works, but I am looking for options.
I may try a file handle like this:

Turning the base of the handle draws the clamps down and together. The challenge is after I have a wet decoy, I want to hang it on a overhead hooks to dry, and whatever I use clamped to the eyescrew is in the way! Maybe I can add a shower hook ring to the eye first and then that will be able to hook and then remove the clamp?
Surely one of you have figured this out better!
Thanks,
