What size script liner?

What do you use for feather splits and quills when painting decoys? Still looking for something that will give me a fine enough line.

Rick~

For fine lines, I tend to use a round brush with sable (or synthetic) bristles - usually a #4 or #6.

In my experience, the real challenge is to get the paint flowing just right. With oils, I add a bit of turps. With latex/acrylic, I add water. In both instances, I work on pallet paper (any glossy paper or foil will do in a pinch). My process is a combination of getting the "solvent" out of the brush on paper towel, then adding the turps or water to the paint on the pallet. Everything is right when the paint flows from a nicely pointed tip. It's even better when the brush holds enough do you can keep painting before the brush needs reloading.

I have a liner or two - but mostly rely on the rounds.

Hope this helps,

SJS
