Got the first four in the first hour of hunting. Took another hour and half to get the next two,,,,,,,,, as I leisurely walked back to my truck. Oh, did I mention I was hunting tree rats? (yumm yumm) [ninja]

Phil,
I only took a photo of the first 4 as I never moved from my shooting position. You will have to trust me on filling out with the next two. [cool]

Seriously though, good job. I haven't had a mess of fried squirrel in ages. When I was in high school my brother and I were death on the local squirrel population and had our own competition - .22s only and only head shots counted. When we got enough together for the family (6 kids) my Mom would parboil the tough ones and then roll in cracker crumbs and fry like chicken - yummm.

Pete,

I've fried them before and they are good that way. I usually boil them until the meat can be deboned and then make a pot pie with the meat. Now you have me craving the fried version.

I totally misread that... I thought you got a limit of DUCKS, and the Shot Squirrels on the way back to the truck... Sheesh!!!!

I should have known better...

Savage 93R17 Thumbhole is a nice rifle!

I've never shot a .17 but wanted to. I always did well with a Nylon 66 and open sights.

Pete,
I always wanted a Nylon 66 when they came out but never got one bought. Anymore I need a scope just so I know I am aiming at a squirrel and not a bump on the side of the tree. [;)]

Haha, I hear you Dave. Prior to two cataract surgeries in June and Sept I wouldn't have seen the difference either. Now I have between 20/15 and 20/10 and it's fantastic. Maybe I'll get the .22 out again.
