Hybrid?

Sure looks like a black/mallard hybrid to me. Maine game wardens would call it an "other duck" and not count it against either the mallard or black duck limit. Local jurisdictions may vary in that--lots of past discussion here.

That is a good looking hybrid, Mike. I agree with Jeff.
Here is a hybrid I took on 10-31-18. Af first I thought I had a good looking Mexican duck but then when I looked especially at the tail area it was easy to see the Mallard influence there.
