Devlin Honker

I am planning on building a Devlin Honker from a kit. I have read most of the posts regarding the Honker and see that most have enlarged it to 20'.

My question is what other modifications would you make if you were going to build it a second time?

Any other considerations?

Thanks Doug

I use 5x10 sheets of plywood. If I recall I added 7 " to the sides as well.. mine ended up @ 19'3" and 91" beam. There was only about a 1/4" of drop from my sheets. The only think I would change, is that I would use AC plywood for the top deck. The Marine plywood does not bend, but you can do crazy stuff with AC. I was advised by Sam Devlin to cold form another 1/4" to the hull due to the length.. I did. I can push 32 mph in optimal conditions with mine. The only thing I would do different is put a 90 HP Yamaha tiller on it not a 60hp. I have put curtains over the shelves.
