APRIL FOOLS WORK BENCH - What's on yours ? (April 2019)

Confidence decoys, so not NDR!

Are you developing the patterns yourself, or pulling them from some on-line source(s)?

Steve -

Your silhouettes remind me of the work of RogerTory Peterson.

If you should ever get the chance. Visit the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History, Jamestown, NY, and the nearby Audubon Nature Center.

I do believe that you will enjoy yourself. The Lake Chautauqua area has a wealth of interesting places to visit.

Best regards
Vince

Good morning, Gents~

Thanks for the kind words.

Once upon a time, a young Steve Sanford set out to be a bird painter. Adirondack Life magazine published these Evening Grosbeaks (and several others) in the June 1978 issue. I began my career with NYSDEC in May of the same year.

My career in wildlife conservation intervened, however, so I've been left with "Phase II" to return to my youthful passion - but one still in competition with boats and decoys and a bunch of other things life has to offer.

Ric~ Most of these drawings/paintings are based shamelessly on "borrowed" Google Images. As this is a pro bono project - educational aids for a not-for-profit - I literally could not afford the time - as I do with my "fine art" projects - to develop truly unique renderings.

All the best,

SJS

So much for his view on the worth and breadth of original thought and endeavor...!

It's also, in my opinion, the most sincere form of flattery!
