Quite An Accomplishment for Someone Not Even 20

Thomas managed to put together one of the best North Alabama waterfowl displays I've seen. Well, actually Blake Wilson of http://www.trophybirds.com/ put the display together, but what I mean is Thomas successfully bagged some of the nicest specimens of mallard, pintail, black duck and mallard-pintail hybrid that you'll ever see. Mallards are somewhat common around here. Pintails are a possibility in some years but fairly rare. Blacks are damn hard to find in most years and some hunters go decades before getting one, if at all. Mallard-pintail hybrid is a once-in-several lifetime duck. Thomas managed all of these before his 20th birthday which blows me away. Knowing all of this there was only one thing to do, put them together in a display. So he and I built a box and Blake did a wonderful job mounting them. Thomas is quite proud, and deservedly so.

That is really great, the mallard-pinnie hybrid is my favorite of the hybrids. Great way to display them, the dead mount is probably the best way to see the details. You picked the right guy for the taxi work, too.

Had Gus out last night breaking some clays. This year will be his first legal waterfowl season here. I?m hoping for a few good hunts. There are a lot of hunts that I?m excited to share with him.

Wow, that's an awesome display. Thomas can use that to find the right girl, if she says it goes on the living room mantle she's a keeper. [;)]

Ain't that the truth. I've been told by three different women to keep at least the guest room "dead thing" free. Geeeeeeesh some people have no taste....bones and skulls and birds are cool [sly]

Eric how freaking cool for Thomas and a great way to memorialize those beauties.

Just tell them that they are your version of stuffed animals......

That IS quite an accomplishment. I suppose I could quip something about "beginner's luck" and not be lying, nor condescending, since most would consider him indeed, a "beginner".

It's good when things like this come together for someone, a bit lacking in experience, as I believe it helps nurture a healthy interest.

Very nice looking display anyways, no matter what all is hanging there. It really "works!"

Not only is that a beautiful mount, it?s a heck of a feather in his cap! Bravo

That looks really nice. I think it is the kind of thing that will always look good and there can always be a place in the house for it. It's also unique, which makes it even better. A great idea.
