Let me introduce Belle

Well after spending a little more than two months with a bird dog trainer in TN, Belle has come home. She is a 17 month old English Setter who was put up for adoption by their previous owner to find someone to hunt her. She will definitely be hunted. We both have lots to learn this summer together before heading off on our fall adventure. But even the learning will be an adventure.

Drake isn't impressed but being the gentleman that he is, he is taking it well. Cookies help soften the blow.

B and Belle get along fairly well and B kept trying to get the girl to play. I never thought that B was a big girl until I saw her next to Belle. Belle is like a pocket puppy next to B.

Belle is a bug pointing fool. During the day it is dragonflies. In the evening it is the pesky pinto bean beetles that crawl across the porch and outside of the door.

While we were in TN, we had hoped to work the dogs on some birds but of course the weekend we chose to go up it was raining. Ah well. We did get to run Belle by herself and then B and Belle together. They are a pretty pair to watch work. We also got to see the baby quail that Hunter is raising for release. He has about 500 4 week old quail. Talk about major cute!!!! One even came to say hello

Belle loves her squeaky snake, seems to be pretty smart and is an absolute little lovebug. This summer will be fun filled I am sure. And hopefully I will have better pictures of the girl.

Beautiful pup. Can,t wait to see her back standing your other setter. Miss the days behind my bird dogs but we no longer have enough wild birds to hunt in my area.

Hello Belle!
Not a bad looking pointy dog. You and Steve will be covering some prairie with those two.

Tim

I hear ya Roy about not enough wild birds. Most years down here in FL we see more woodcock than quail anymore. We find quail and treasure every covey but it seems like woodcock are more consistent. Good thing Steve is retired and spends the falls out west. She will get a great education out there!

She is beautiful!
I'd love to do some upland hunting behind a pointer like that. Not many quail around here anymore either, coyotes came in and quail went down.

Belle is a Beauty! Love the crossed paws and happy eyes photo.

Learning is always an adventure. Cookies are good solutions, and rewards for one and all.

You have some FINE Best Friends there to keep you very busy.

Enjoy the Spring & Summer, cuz Fall will be here soon, and Fall = BIRDS.

Best regards
Vince

They are probably discussing hairdos and shampoo preferences. You know, girl stuff. [;)]

Hi Dani,
I am already looking forward to those days coming up this fall when you'll have your new best buddy in the field. Just thinking about the pictures of pheasants or Huns being retrieved by Belle is exciting enough for me. She is a keeper.

Girl stuff? What is this girl stuff you speak of??? If they're discussing hairdos, B is probably saying DON"T LET HER NEAR YOUR EARS or you will look like me and you will regret it!
