this is on a watercolor of mallards coming in on cupped wings - i cannot make it out

Show a picture of the painting. People who collect art, like myself, can sometimes identify an artist's work without a signature present. You'll increase your odds that someone may recognize who painted it. It's basically the same as trying to identify decoy carvers.

yeah- that would make sense - if i had taken one

the print was in the window of a shop and i took just the one picture with the phone figuring i could enlarge it and see what it said

that guy's penmanship is almost worse than mine

that is as close as i can get without asking them to remove part of the window display
