So.... I got mods done to the Duckwater 21... This boat will mostly be a tender... but there will be times when I hunt it as a big blind.. be in on the Mississippi, The Great Lakes, or the Atlantic. Not sure how often I will use the top blind, but will probably have to, to keep him comfy.. but.. here it is.. Dog dog and blind...

Phil,
A word of caution. I run large trim tabs on my tender and they are flat stainless plate similar to your dog platform. Maker sure to round, debur and or add a beading around the edge. My boy Coot sliced his paw badly when launching off the trim tab using it as a dog platform. Dealing with the injury was bad enough. Dealing with a chessie in the boat that is not allowed to do his job because he's injured... that was a nightmare!!!

The mods look fantastic. If you are headed to the mid-Atlantic region make sure to let me know.

To piggy back on what Gene said; you might consider spraying a heavy coat of truck bed liner on it after you make sure all the edges are fully radiused over. Be sure to scuff it up good before coating, if you do.

Kann did a great job. The edges are all deburred. Nothing sharp.

I am putting 3m Safety walk on the deck. It is far superior to bedliner for grip. I am also going to put trim lock around the edges.

Phil, looks like a good job on the boat. I am jealous of the size of your workshop.

LOL... Thanks... there are pros and cons the more room you have ? the more crap you acquire... or I do anyway!

Watch the top blind. I had a dw17 and the wind caught it on rondeau bay while i was up handling my dog. It hit me in the head and knocked me slam out. My wife was there and she said she thought i was dead,,,,lol

Phil definitely needs to mount a GoPro to capture that.

GO Pro, Tactacam and Nikon DSLRs will be onboard.... lol.. that being said. I would be that is not possible. The top section is the only one that could catch wind if used... and since the top section snaps tat the back to the top of the sides.. I don't see that ever happening.. not to mention... I would only use the top when set up on a bank.... so the wind is at my back.... it would have to be a 180 on the wind.....
