With the heat of summer hitting us hard here in New York State. I'm just sitting home in the AC thinking about a new project for the upcoming duck season. I have this old clam boat that was turned into a hunting camp years ago. Its only nineteen foot long it sleeps two. My friend slept in it many times before. Years ago I bought it from him and had it all redone inside with knotty pine. But as the story goes it sunk when my anchor twisted in ruff water. When two ships were passing by. I ran over top of it in the fog the next morning with my boat. That's when I found out that it went down. After waiting six hours for the tide to go down. My friend and I pumped the water out and took the old girl back home. Everything was damaged inside and I lost a bunch of hunting gear that floated out of the boat. So for the second time I had the inside gutted and rewired and a stove put in. I also had a big window cut in the side of the boat to shot out of. With a flap that you could pull up to close the window. I took the 85 hp merc off and towed it in to the bay every year. It was just easier. I didn't run the motor that much so half the time it didn't start anyway. This year I have to do some work under the boat. Sitting on rocks or a dead tree over the years did some damage. I was going to leave it up to my camp for hunting deer . I have shot a bunch of deer from it. So we will see. But know matter what! I am going to redo what I can. To get the boat back to where it was.View attachment Picture 128.jpg
