Worst ammo I have ever bought - Remington

Hi All,
I bought a flat of Remington Game Loads (cheap target/dove ammo) from Cabela's on sale.
When I got it I assumed UPS or Cabela's had packed or abused it in shipping. There was loose shot everywhere and some of the boxes had opened.
I called Cabela's and they sent me 3 more boxes to make up for what was messed up (as a guess on the amount).
The 3 new boxes had the same issues.
At that point I contacted Remington through their website (no response)
What I have are 13 boxes of shells that look like the hulls were never skived, the crimps are opening, are dished, or have holes in the middle.
I have never seen factory ammo this bad in the 30 or so years I have been shooting.
I assume it is safe as worst case there is less or no shot so pressures will be less not more but my god....
Last Remington product I will buy and I own a lot of their products, guns and ammo both.
It's the I don't give a shit part that bothers me from Remington, Cabela's has tried to do the right thing, as it turns out it wasn't their problem, it was non existent quality control from Remington

That sucks but doesn't surprise me. I had a problem with an offer made by Remington that they wouldn't uphold. Mack's pointed the finger at Remington and Remington pointed it back. We now buy all our ammo from Rogers and that includes Winchester, Kent, and Rio. There are a lot in the ammo business these days so if you get screwed move on to another manufacturer. Good luck.

I think Remington and "quality control" went on seperate paths some time ago. They use to have some killer heavy upland loads...I haven't felt that they were worth using for about 15 years now.
I stick mostly to Kent, Fiocchi and Federal these days.

It's nice to read that Cabelas still tried to make it right.

I?d like to say I was surprised but one time I patterned Remington?s nitromag turkey loads. I think I?d have a better chance killing the turkey by throwing that shell.

Good on Cabalas if they replaced the bad ammo. Personally I've no use for "game load" type ammo (usually a light load of cheap, low antimony shot at high velocity), except maybe the Remington 16 Gauge which has a hull that is nice for reloading. However, I have shot several flats of both 12 and 20 gauge Remington Gun Clubs over the last year with no quality issues and believe they would work fine for most applications, even hunting. A lot of skeet shooters shoot Gun Club ammo, even when competing at registered skeet tournaments, since you can buy them about as cheap, if not cheaper, than you can reload. Best regular price I've seen on them lately is online at Ganderoutdoors for 4.99 a box. Free shipping over $100. Only down side is my wife can't move the box off the front doorstep ; )

I think most manufacturing is done in other countries, and quality has suffered. Even Winchester has had some issues as of late. I've had guys tell me they had Winchester 28 gauge HS AA hulls with cracked brass right out of the box (and I've seen many crack after first firing). Something about the annealing process with the brass. That's from a "premium" shell that costs about $10 a box new and you expect to have a once fired resell value of .15 to .20 each. Now I have heard Winchester will replace defective shells, but never tried that myself.

I finally got a hold of someone at Remington. It looks like they are going to replace my flat of shells. I have a mail ticket to send back the bad flat. Apparently quality control is now laser guided and computerized and this wasn't caught. ..?
