Garvey style sneak box

Josh

That little boat has great lines. I'd love to see one in the 14-16' range. Keep posting pictures as you add to it.

I like it a lot I think it?s made from plans plans in successful duck hunting called the gunning Jon boat but I?m not sure I?m thinking about trying to enlarge one to 12 feet long and wider. Worked on the spray shield today. Mom gave this phaff sewing machine last year works pretty well on this waterproof canvas from amazon. Great job, Josh - lots of great details!

re your push pole storage: 2 questions

1. Do you keep the stool racks on when gunning?

2. Are you right-handed - or southpaw?

All the best,

SJS

I plan to leave the stool racks on when gunning my old sneakbox (Higbee) had permanent ones. I am right handed. I was thinking about making the push pole a 2 piece with a 1 1/4 copper pipe piece as a coupler. I had a two piece a push pole like this before but i didn't care for it. It was better then not having a rush pole. I also thought about making a wire hoop through the galvanized pipe on the spray shield to hold the pole. I tracked down the original owner through the previous owner and looks like I might be able to get a bill of sale for transfer of ownership. After I run the HIN number I will know if her was the last guy it was registered to.

For the push poll mount , I would get emt electrical conduit clips. Inch and a half diameter . screw one to the outside of your Decoy rack and the other to the front deck. You can fit your pole inside those and bend the EMT to mate it. It will never come out!
