What's on your Work Bench? AUGUST 2019

Good morning, Patrick~

That herd of heads just won't stand still! Great work!

Thanks SJS
I wish I knew what you carver?s take for granted or forgot.
Would make the process a little faster!
Pat

Thanks, Steve. Just putting the last sealer coat on after I get off here. More when they are dressed a bit more.[angelic]

Having a "busy" summer with family, travel, & grandkids, etc.; but still managing to get into the studio every once in a while to continue with a wood duck deadmount that I'm content to enjoy in small doses. Got a way to go, but finally starting to feel like I'm gaining on it.

This bird will eventually be double mounted in a diorama along with the wigeon I completed a while back. I have the background panel chosen;nevertheless, that will be another project in itself.

Patrick -

That's a start... and a good one.

A little to much pressure on the knife?

The scar under my right index/trigger finger, below the knuckle, from 1984 is why I now put all carvings, head and body in a vice.

At the time I was working at a Steel Mill and could not work until completely healed. Cost me more ways than one.

Hope you heal well, and do not have to miss work.

Best regards
Vince

Good morning, Patrick~

Yes, indeed, you are now a bona fide Carver's Club Inductee. In fact, I'm thinking you could go right to an officer position.

I've sliced myself plenty of times - but have not yet needed stitches. Better a knife than a band saw, though....

All the best,

SJS

Looks pretty snappy, paisan! Hope you get the chance to get an invite to hunt over him. Racy looking, he is!

Patrick -

Thank you.

I hope that your finger is healing, but I know it has got to be throbbing something fierce. It's one of those incidents that takes it's good old time to heal.

Best regards
Vince
