Hey folks,

Just threw together my first V-Boards from some inspiration on this site and realized that despite I've "lurked" for years, I've never posted.

These are three of my essential 'fowling pieces, my trusty Citori Lightning, my coffin box (inspired by Mr. Sanford) and my slightly less trusty, but very enthusiastic English Springer Spaniel, Townes. Please excuse and forgive the plastic goose shells...

I hope to get more active in posting, I've learned a lot from reading.

Welcome aboard Cory.

No need to apologize for plastic decoys. All are welcome here, except maybe Spin Wing plastic...[;)]

I look forward to hearing more from your neck of the woods.

Best regards
Vince

Whew good thing I have rotating plastic wing decoy and not a spin one 😁😁😁

Glad you stepped out of the lurker category Cory. "V" boards are something I have on the list to make but haven't got it to the priority list yet. Hope they bring the birds in to improved cylinder range.

In my hunting career, I've seen exactly one Can and it was on a trip to Manitoba a few years ago and it calmly swam away from Mr from about 15 yards out. I don't sluice on the water on the best of days, let alone my first Can. My Dad and I are heading back to Manitoba in about a month and I figured I'd try to up my odds.

On the few times I've used spinners, I've found there's absolutely nothing better to place the blame on than them ;)

Thanks for the welcome,

Cory

Welcome Cory!

Nice y-boards, somewhere on the resources page you can find the buffy yboards I posted a pattern of. They worked great for me, I used them back before there were any good inexpensive buffy decoys on the market.

What part of the country do you hail from? I saw snow in the photo, so I assume somewhere a little farther north than my new stomping grounds in Tampa!

I'd prefer to have a spread of cork or wood Cans, but with the Canadian dollar and shipping, it gets crazy real quick. Usually the cost of shipping is about the same as a decoy.

I'm from a little town in North Western Ontario.

Welcome to the site.
I haven?t been around long but this is by far the most inviting and knowledgeable group I have encountered on the web.
I hunt with plastic Decoys too, maybe upgrade some day after seeing the works of art made by members on here.
