Wing Survey Envelopes Received!

Wing Survey Envelopes Received!
Just received my big pouch of wing envelopes from USFWS, this is the second year in a row I will be participating.
My daughter helped me out last year, putting wings in the inner envelopes and filling out the information.
She got a kick out of "analyzing" the results when we received them too. Biologist in the making???

Anyone else receive their's??

I received mine about 2 weeks ago, first year doing this and very excited. I've been wanting to participate since I learned of the program.

It's a pretty cool way to add to the waterfowling experience. We had a lot of fun with it last year, which was my first time ever to participate and I started duck hunting back in 1996.
I did get to do the paper survey for two seasons.

One bit of advice: make sure to order more envelopes before you need them.

I received my box of duck wing envelopes two weeks ago.

I've been sending wings for the last couple of years. I was also picked me to send in woodcock wings and my first week harvest dove wings. (I mailed 15 wings off yesterday.) I tell my bride it's my responsibility to hunt and harvest some birds so I don't let the USFWS folks down. Wink

Hey Carl,
Just wanted you to know that I received my box of envelopes maybe a week ago. This is also my 2nd year with this particular 3 year survey. I have already completed 2 other surveys here in New Mexico, So all in all this is year #8 of doing surveys with the wings.

A couple of times back in the early 2000s when I was doing the wing survey, I decided to put in a picture of a particular duck. This happened to be whenever I shot a good looking Mexican duck. If it was a hybrid, I figured they would say it was a mallard. I remember sealing the envelope with the photo and saying on the outside, Do not open until you have made your decision. Who knows they most likely never saw it.

Just like you, I have always enjoyed doing this and never minded the time spent. I felt honored to be part of the program.
