Rangeley Camp continued.

Although the pace slowed from last year and the accomplishment list is shorter, as I look at the pictures again, I am reminded of the hours represented and pleased with the progress, not to mention having the help of my brother and father on some of the projects.

First is the well, no pictures of the drilling rig but went down 200' for 12 gallons/minute.

Then came time for the 2x6 T&G spuce to be laid for the loft floor, belt sanded with three coats of poly.

Then time for the main floor in the camp. 5/4x12" pine that I had milled from trees on my property at home and then planed down at my brother's shop. We back beveled the edge 3 degrees for a better edge fit.

That looks great! I don?t think I?ll ever have a hunting camp, but I sure like seeing them. Need some antlers! Get to it.

I sure enjoyed those pictures. With moose and most likely a goodly number of black bear in the area, this camp has all the makings of a luxury home for the tired hunter when coming back from a great day in the field.

Troy, I am betting that Pearl knows where the grouse and woodcock are found. Any beaver ponds close by?

Troy, I have thoroughly enjoyed the progression of this hunting camp since you started. You guys have done an excellent job.

Nice moose.

That's a sweet camp Troy. Nice work on the floors. Your moose will look great on the wall. Did you have a mount done, or are you just hanging Bullwinkle's rack?

You are correct Al, grouse and woodcock are common staples to the area. There a lot of beaver in the area, more in the rivers but some ponds around too.

I did not have a shoulder done, my house is not that big. The rack is 49" and the moose weighed just over 900lbs at 907. Great memories and the rack itself will take up enough room.
