Part to TDB blind

I managed to lose one of the couplings that pivots and connects two parts of the blind. Anyone know where I can get parts for aTDB blind or how to improvise the lost coupling?

Thanks.

Lou, actually those couplings consist of two parts: a cast aluminum outside eye end attached to the pipe and a stainless jaw slide

You need the cast aluminum one on the right.

You want the stainless unit on the right, not the nylon one.

If Rochford Supply won't sell them to you, go through a canvas shop near you.

If you can't pick them up on your own, try Elizabeth Olsen at Olsen Marine, current manufacturers of TDBs. I assume they still build their blinds the same way.

Lou,

Call the folks @ Olsen Marine, they will hook you up. I lost one last year.

Good morning, Rick~

Thanks for letting us know about Rockford Supply - it's now bookmarked for my further exploration.

Question: Your thoughts re s/s over nylon on the fittings? I would lean toward the nylon for our saltwater environs unless you think they are insufficiently rugged.

All the best,

SJS

I opted to go with the stainless and had it powder coated when I restructured my TDB blind.

As you know, there are a variety of stainless steel alloys, a query to the supplier to determine the alloy might be a prudent course. I tend to stay away from nylon polymers because they degrade in UV, and don't handle cold well as they age.
