One week from today the Big Chief and I will be leaving for Coastal New Jersey on a three week sneak box safari! I have been without a Chesapeake beside me in the marsh for about five years. I will be staying in Brigantine again this year about 1/4 mile from the ramp. I was fortunate enough to meet a couple hunters at the ramp last year and plan on expanding my runs this year towards the brigantine inlet.

I also am thinking about launching and exploring around cape may or in that direction. I hunted down there twenty some odd years ago and I think with three weeks of time, I may get reacquainted.

If ya see a white silverado with an estuary behind...flag me down! Id love to chat and swap stories!!

Your post brought back a lot of memories. I had a good friend in Philly and we'd launch his boat at the Brigantine ramp. Head out past Atlantic City, under the bridge, and into the ocean to wreck fish. Never hunted that area. I'm trying to picture where you might set up. Good luck. I'll watch for your reports.

If your hunting on the refuge down here make sure you buy your refuge stamp it?s new this year and guys that live here don?t know you need it till it?s to late. Also the refuge has its own set of rules like no jump shooting and things like that. The area your in isn?t all refuge but they have free maps online letting you know where you can and can?t be. Some areas are closed and they don?t post many signs.

I believe most of the Forsythe Refuge is now allowing jump shooting.
A few changes have been made to the regulations with the new
refuge permit.

No jump shooting allowed on any part of the refuge also no more units and no more shot shell limits. If your going to hunt there I would read up. Some boundary?s are not marked by signs.
