Does anyone have any experience with this outboard or any oil injected 2 stroke Suzuki outboard. I found 1 for sale for 400 bucks seems like a good price and looks in decent shape. I've never had a Suzuki was wondering if they had any problems I should be aware of. It's going on my southbay if I pull the trigger. Thanks for any help

$400 bucks sounds like a steal for a good 2 stroke 15hp.
Crank it up, run it on a hose. Maybe check the compression in each cylinder.
Even if it needs a little work its still a great price.
I didn't think they made oil injected motors that small, thought it started with the 3 cylinder 25s??

I would encourage you to pull the model number off the badge and do a search or review to identify any issues.

I have one in 25 hp. I have my oil injection hooked up, but I know some guys disconnect it and mix the oil in the tank so they don't have to worry about it failing. I have never had a problem with my motor and it is from the 90's. I think the biggest problem with most outboards is the lack of use and gas turning bad in the carbs. Ask the guy if you take it for a run first or take it to an outboard mechanic and have it checked out.
Couple years back I almost bought an older Evinrude and decided to have it looked at. The mechanic gave me a good assessment as to what it would cost to have running reliably and I decided it wasn't worth it. Good luck.

The issue will have with those motors is finding parts. My buddy picked one up for $100. He didn't know what he was getting into. When he brought it to me, someone had taken apart the lower unit and didn't know how to put it back together. For $100 it wasn't a big deal but it's just sitting waiting for us to get parts.

From what I understand, the oil injection system worked pretty good. It adds a little size and weight due to having it onboard.

I wouldn't mind having one as a backup motor.

I had a DT25 on the back of my boat. It was a 94 I think. It was a little heavy for it being a 3cyl but boy you could hear it from miles away. Sounded like an old RM250 running wide open in a meadow.

I was surprised it was oil injected also, I'm meeting the guy on Saturday. He is a small canoe/ kayak dealer who doesn't deal with outboards much he says it was bought from a widow who's husband put a new carb on it and some other work, who knows? Could be bs. Worked out the deal for 350 and he's given me 3days money back warranty if it doesn't work out. Thanks for the advice and wish me luck
