I picked up a Lund Ricer 15 ft boat a while back and was wondering if anyone else has one and can provide pics and info. Ive searhed online and have not found much other than a grainy photo from a 1959 catalog. The boat is well used and I dont have a reference point that could tell me what i am missing or what is original. Thanks Bob

I had one and sold it a few years ago, mine had one seat about a third of the way form the back, you stand behind that seat and pole the boat and the "beater" sits on the seat and wraps the rice off the stalks. The transom was angled for a small outboard, my ribs were from square tubing, these were made in Lund metalcraft days and I have seen quite a few over the years there is some variation on the ribs some are angled alum. there are several still in use and you will see them here occasionally on craigslist when you get close to ricing season.

Does the missing seat mean it was removed(cut out) or was it a sliding seat that was positioned by user. The ribs dont come up the sides and one side is a bit pushed in. Needs a new plywood transom and rivet work. Still some Lund blue paint on the exterior and a rice harvesting decal .

Bob,

It is my guess you have a one of the later models, I have seen this one before too, the one I had the seat was riveted in and the ribs went up the sides and had additional bracing on the floor and were made form square tubing, additional the older models were "flatter" on the floor I believe, I think they got more "canoe" like as they got older.
