Busick layout boat

Wondering if anyone has any plans to build these? Waterfowl works doesn?t sell them anymore and I can?t find anyone else who?s selling them. Seems like a good summer project.

I hope I'm wrong, and someone straightens me out, but I heard the plans were buried by Waterfowl Works. I hope you are able to find a copy. I wouldn't be surprised if someone has a set they cooked up on their own and are willing to share. Searching the archives here might turn up something.

You might try and get up with Paul. Pretty sure he still lives in ohio. Used to see him in Strongsville.

Nick,
Ah! The Busick layout boat. You don't hear much about them anymore but they always seemed to have the better lines than most of the other brands.

I never had a chance to meet Paul Busick, but in the Lake Erie/Lake St. Clair area of Ohio and Michigan, his layout boat was held in high esteem.

I was fortunate to buy one with my friend Dale about 20 years ago. We used it on Lake St. Clair, specifically on Mitchell's Bay targeting blue bills and in Ontario targeting ringnecks. It is a very cool thing to pop up and startle a ringneck in the sweet spot, at about 25 feet.

As of last fall my friend Dale was still not interested in selling that Busick, but he may have changed his mind by now.

After all, being 65 years old, I know he and I could get into the Busick. I'm just not sure we could get OUT of it!

:)

Here's a pic, staged, on a lake in northern Ontario.

I've got a 2 man busick I picked up a 2 seasons ago. I would consider selling or trading for a one man but I would be more than happy to give you some measurements if needed.

Charles, you?re a bit far away for me to buy/sell, but I?d be interested in measurements if you want to email them to me. I?ll send you a PM
