I have been on a quest to get to a complete cork / carved rig for a few years. I have built a nice jersey puddle duck rig and had started a good diver rig. I bid on and won really nice rig of mike smyser redheads and buffleheads. I purchased 15 redheads and 14 buffleheads that range in age from 1991 to 2001. They are nicer than i could have imagined, as i bought them from the zeb auction in virgina a few weeks back. All of the redheads are rigged, but i believe not hunted. The buffleheads are six hunted and eight never rigged.

Chris

Congrats on the rig. They look to be in really good shape, and Mike's styling is excellent in my book.

Chris congrads on the awesome rig I won the wasson & wasson decoys but on sad note sorry I bidded the smysers up!

My regret was letting the canvasbacks go! I ended up at about $50 a decoy for the whole rig shipped.....cant complain about that!

Made me smile Just seeing the pics!
Great dekes and sounds like you got them at a great price.

Chris, just to let you know, those are all of WILEY cork, and you should get a few generations of use out of them. Nice find!

I believe that rig has gotten around. Did you get any history on it? I am pretty sure I saw it nearly 20 years ago.

they are stamped on the keels "DPC" . I got no history on them...but, I can tell you it will be many years before they get sent down the road. I can guarantee they wont be as pretty as they are today... [;)]

Ya did good Chris.

Mr. Smyser makes mighty fine gunning decoys, and they will serve you well for many a season.

Being a little long in the tooth.

I can't recall going to a decoy show, and NOT seeing Mr. Smyser working away, and doing what the lord intended him to do.

Have always wanted to sit and have a long chat with him, but I hate to interrupt a guy when he is working. So I usually just watch.

Masters always make things look easy that are not.
