Best shotgun Safety Lock

Hi all,
First off, I hope you are all making it through this difficult time and you are finding a way to keep the faith during this Lenten season and a Happy Passover too.

I've spent a lot of time cleaning and organizing my gun safe and my boys (7&9) are getting more and more excited about target shooting and the expectation of duck season next year.
I what gun locks (trigger, cable etc) have you had luck with? Also, if you go for cable locks, can you have a bunch keyed the same?

Thanks,
Mc

When I worked for Conservation back in Alabama, they had a bunch of cable locks they handed out at events, they all had the same key. I sonder if you can get them from your local DNR office???

I looked into that Carl and found that I can get them free at the local Police Academy.....something in my gut says that a local Elementary Teacher might not want to walk into the Police Academy and ask for a dozen gun locks.....

I have several cable locks that came with purchases of new firearms. I've have seen but not used trigger locks.

Just thinking out loud; As for a youngster (or anyone for that matter) gaining access to said firearm, subsequently displaying that firearm in a situation where inappropriate, It would seem to me that a cable lock would be a more visible indicator that the firearm is not a threat. More so than a trigger lock which might go unnoticed in the same situation.

My random thoughts about this are just that, please don't read more into it than that.

No disclaimer necessary Dave, I understand totally. I want to be able to leave the 410 in the boathouse accessible, but certainly not operational. I think a cable lock serves both the purposes you mentioned. Especially since it's yellow and super visible.
