RBM decoy finished.

Chest base color is off a bit, BUT THE REST OF THAT HAIRYHEAD JUST REEKS OF MERGY!
Nice, simple body, clean lines, easy on the eyes!![angelic]
Blessed Easter to you and yours

Good morning, Mike~

Great bird! Stylized birds are what really catch my eye - that mix of getting the personality of the species but then overlaying some abstractions of the shapes and markings. I especially like those white shapes up forward, looking like the Number 3. Excellent all around.

Happy Easter!

Mike,

Good to see that Mac is not the only one working on decoys in your household. On another note, any virus activity in your area. We are getting a few cases real close by in my neighborhood.

Your RBM will toll birds, and people.

It looks good up close, and will most certainly at a distance.

The combing and thick applied paint will only get better with age. It has a "new age" Joe Lincoln style paint.

I am confused about the "Hairy Head" nick name.

When I gunned Chincoteague, only the Hooded Merganser was called a Hairy Head.

There were always plenty of RBM around, but not called Hairy Heads.

It doesn't really matter, as nick names change from place to place.

Thanks guys.

Dave, pretty quiet in the Yukon for virus cases so far. I think we've had 7 confirmed cases, all were in self isolation at the time they developed symptoms and were related to travel when it first hit. No one has had to be hospitalized yet that I know of.

It is interesting that while in other areas people are being asked to stay home, our govt an the NWT are encouraging people to disperse out to their bush camps and cabins with family. Some gov't are even helping pay for supplies and fuel to get people out of town and "on the land".

People have been doing a good job of giving each other room at the grocery store and places, and not crowding.
