We hved a neighbor on the hill behind the house. Nice guy, but i get a kick out of someone buying a rural house with a pond and then spend so much time chasing waterfowl off the pond,

he does this to protect the koy fish in the pond - I haven't tried to explain that neither Canada geese nor mallards eat them.

but yesterday - we had a visit from a itinerant fisherman - who did take one of his fish - (last pic is a little less sharp than I like but it was a long way off and I did not have time to get the big lens) he wasn't on the water long enough to be harassed

Rick,

The Osprey will be back.

Koy fish ponds are the Micky D's drive thru's for all fish eating predators, furry and feathered.

Been seeing Osprey on our local streams for the last couple years. Not near as many as in PA, but that will change.

Like the Bald Eagle, they go where the fish are and NY has lotta fish.

Hope you have been out social distancing with your fly rod.

Saw some Blue Quills the other day, and that made me smile.

Bumper crop of fisher folks, fighting off cabin fever.

i know he will be back - I have a gimbal head (for use with a long lens to track a moving target) that i need practice with

we have some eagle nests near by, but this is only the second osprey I have seen from our house

fishing for myself has been slow with the new pup - until he can be in the kennel for a few hours without peeing I am stuck here

one of those inexplicable forces of nature - he can be in his kennel box all night and be dry - but once daylight is on, he can't go 30 minutes without a trip outside [whistle]

when my wife works from home - she actually works from home so, no puppy sitting

That?s one expensive meal, hope that osprey appreciates fine sashimi!
