Duck Dynasty Home Shot Up In Drive-by Shooting.

I saw yesterday where the home of Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame was shot up by a man firing at it from a truck. Fortunately the family members were inside and none were struck by gunfire. An arrest was made in this case.

So right now I have more questions than answers about this incident. What was the motive? Was it over some controversial statements made by Phil over politics? Did the shooter use an unplugged gun? Was the Cajun season open? Did he use non-toxic shot? Was he moving under power at the time he shot? We need answers for these and other questions soon.

This is a quickly evolving story and I hope answers will be coming out soon.

Sorry, I too do not see the humor in your comments.
 
I believe the questions being asked were some of the charges brought against Mr. Robertson (not sure entirely and yes I realize the house shot at was Willies). Very sad story.

Mark,
Daniel Dean King has been arrested in connection with the alleged drive-by shooting and taken to Ouachita Correctional Center. The police report did not indicate that there were any other parties charged in this incident.
 
Trying to add some humor may seem to be flip but I do sympathize with what the family feels. I was shot at on my back deck with a shotgun from a vehicle about 20 years ago. I was not hit but it shook up my wife and my 10 year old daughter who were at home when it occurred . I have also been shot at a few other times and was not hurt. Another time I was shot at and got hit with # 4 buck. I guess it goes with the territory when you have worked in local, state and federal law enforcement since 1980. Each incident was job related. In my opinion, getting shot at and missed is a lot more pleasant than getting shot at and hit.

Winston Churchill was right when he said, "Nothing in life is so exhilarating as to be shot at without result."

If I make a joke about it I think I earned it.

That is where I will have to disagree. Being intentionally shot at is not a joke, it is a matter of life and death. I don't know how anyone "earns" the right to joke about someone else being on the receiving end of a gun barrel.
 
I understand that maybe my humor is not appreciated. That is probably why most cops hang out with other cops as we tend to see a lot of this stuff and cop humor is best understood by other cops, firemen and other first responders. I guess Joseph Wambaugh books probably would not be up your alley either

My child hood friend was a cop, until he was gunned down. Another friend lost a body part. Another friend in law enforcment committed suicide. I have several family members who are in law enforcement.

You are correct, your "humor" is not appreciated.

I also don't "get it", your post is just not funny. I admire and respect the strength and support our first responders provide to our communities. Although I have a good sense of humor and can laugh at myself, it's troubling to think that if I had an emergency incident or needed assistance, that my misfortune would result in someone's jokes.

Having worked in healthcare (Radiology) for over 40 years, I've found most first responders to show maturity, respect and empathy for those with whom they encounter. In times like these, perhaps this forum is not the best place for your comedy routine.
