Squatters

Good morning, Roy~

Excellent! We often have a Canada nest on the seat of our blind in the Hemlock Swamp. Haven't found their nest yet this year.

All the best,

SJS

Mornin Steve. It the second time I,ve had one nesting on blind roof at this location. First time many years ago buddy and I went to a previous blind to install a new roof about this time of year. Blind entry then as now is from a door at rear from boat blind length of blind rear . Had a sharp eye out for snakes and didn,t know goose was setting on roof. When I popped up into blind and stood erect scared goose as bad as it scared me. Had to evict that goose to install roof (after I checked my pants).

Years ago when I was a kid I remember finding ospreys and black ducks often nested on blind roofs around the Chesapeake.

Didn,t find it on roof but years ago found a hen blk. duck nested in a river tumb we were getting ready to build a blind in during early spring. That's about the time I started paying attention to how many blk. ducks we actually had staying here on eastern shore during spring/summer. Looking in the right places we,ve got a lot that stay from my observations. Eastern shore of virginia even more so than md. Ospreys on just about every channel marker post top you come across, especially along bay front.
