That Steve Sutton was in the middle of the big blow out in Washington. He's been without power for a while and isn't sure how long it will be before it's back on. Normally I wouldn't post up info like that but..while he is stuck there taking care of his home, his Dad is losing a very grim battle with cancer in Florida. Debby is in Florida with the family and I know what Steve is going through, not being able to be at his Fathers side. Let's all keep a good thought for Steve and his Dad in our hearts, offer a prayer or three if that is your way. I wish I could be more eloquent with words when my heart aches for a friend.

Sorry to hear things are not going well for his father. I saw some damage in Renton on the news the other day and wondered if it was affecting him. It has to be tough having all that at once.
Best wishes for him and his whole family.

Being a relatively new guy here I have just started talking with Steve and discussing things that are important to all of us. However I did not realize his father was ill. I too live far from my home area and understand the difficulty of having a parent so far away and ill with cancer.
Steve is a great guy and hopefully things smooth out for him and his family.
Steve you and your family are in my prayers. I wish your father the best.

I'm a fairly new guy around here (3-4 years or so) and have enjoyed Steve's posts. I was not aware of his father's struggle and didn't really place him (Steve) in the middle of one of nature's backlashes. Thank you for making me aware of this. I will send peaceful thoughts and care to Steve and his family.

My best to Steve's family. My mother had cancer and the awful chemo process this summer - Winter. When one family member gets sick, the whole family suffers.
Hang in there and suffice it to say, hundreds on this site are pulling for the Suttons.

Death and taxes may be the only things certain in life, but at least death doesn't get worse every time Congress meets.

Dear Lee and friends,
Steve called me yesterday afternoon. He told me the sad news as described by Lee. The good news is, Steve is staying very strong through all of this.
He recently returned to Renton, from being at his father's side. Debby is still there. He no doubt, spent some very precious time with his dad.
Twelve large trees were knocked by the storm, taking out the power up the hill and onto a mile long private road that leads up to Steve and Debby's home. He was joking that he was putting his beer in the refrigerator, to keep it warm enough to drink. He also stated that he is getting a generator today. He said his neighbors have them, and joked that his will be the biggest on the block. Still the same old Steve that we have come to know and love.
Please do keep him in your prayers. This will be a rough Christmas Season for our friend, who has always been there for us.
God Bless All, this Christmas Season.

Lee,
Thanks for bringing this up - I wondered if Steve was in the middle of everything out West. Am very sorry to hear about his Dad; one stress is enough - two of this magnitude, I can't even imagine.
Steve, hope you'll have time to read this soon, and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.
Rick
