Buying new clothes?

I need some advice. Earlier this year I lost a lot of hunting equipment in a fire. Thankfully no one was hurt, my Columbia Quad parka, Columbia bibs & waders were a total loss. It has been a while since I've done any serious shopping for clothing, does anyone have any recommendations on the current crop of outerwear? I'm looking @ lacrosse waders, I hunt in Michigan from Indiana State line to the upper peninsula, as well as a fair bit of steelhead fishing during the off season. Any recommendations would be welcome.

If you,ve never used breathable waders you should consider them over neophrene. Several brands out there with removable insulated liners. I,ve had good luck with frog togs version. With liner in during bitter cold they are warmer to me than my old 5mm neos. And god knows much easier to move around in. Water fowling jkts. the big thing is Sitka presently but extremely pricey. Drake makes some top tier jackets as well an Columbia still makes the Quad Jkt. & Parka. Not gortex now like they originally were way back when. Probably all of them need a good Healy Hansen Rain coat over them in a prolonged down pour to keep you completely dry!

I don't buy much, but it's usually whats on sale, discontinued, or off brand, Don't care what version of camo it is as long as it's cheap...lol

Rogers sporting goods makes a fantastic line of breathable waders. I went from neoprene to these and love them. Removable liner and much more freedom of movement. And they are not as hot as neoprene in the early season.

I broke down and bought the new sitka waders last season. Expensive but best I've owned and I've tried pretty much all over 50 years. The other thought is go with the less expensive and plan on replacing every few years. I've been disappointed with the middle cost range. Go low or go big[cool]

Check out Field Supply.Com Or Texas Fowlers for their closeouts on name brand Jkts. & waders. Rogers also has some deals in their clearance section. The Frog Tog grand Refuge i,ve got are actually the same wader Rogers sells. Got them cheaper when I bought by getting Frog Togs brand thru texas fowlers. the 120 gram liner is all you,ll ever need in my experience. Rogers selling them right now for $249 under their name. I,ve actually got a Drake LST (their warmest)heavy weight sherpa fleece lined full zip wader jkt in Bottomland camo right now for sale at $60. size 3xl like new.

I'm the same way, don't buy things if the are still good. Still wore a woodland parka, till two years ago when cabelas had a big sale. Still use it... Also had a hodgman rain coat like Steve wears. Stuff lasted a long time years ago...
